Apple Shifts iPhone Production to India by 2025

Apple’s Shift to India Amid Tariff and AI Worries

Apple is planning to make most of the iPhones sold in the U.S. in India by June 2025. This change is part of Apple’s plan to depend less on China for manufacturing. Right now, trade problems between the U.S. and China are causing trouble for Apple. The company might have to pay up to $900 million in extra taxes (tariffs) this quarter because of these issues.

By moving more of its production to India, Apple hopes to avoid such high costs and make its supply chain stronger. At the same time, Apple is also facing delays in launching its new artificial intelligence (AI) system, called Apple Intelligence. This delay has made some investors worry about the company’s future plans.

  • Apple will make most U.S.-sold iPhones in India by mid-2025

  • Trade tensions with China may cost Apple $900 million in tariffs

  • Apple’s AI launch is delayed, causing investor concern
